As a parent, I know first hand how quickly time passes.  How quickly the roundness in your baby’s face disappears.  How quickly their developing personalities take on new personas.  It’s bittersweet watching your little one grow up.  While you love to imagine the person they’ll become, another part of you wishes they’d stay little forever.

My approach to photographing your family is to simply document these fleeting moments before they become faded memories.

From the warm embraces of little arms stretched around your waist… To the contagious belly laughs followed by the happy kind of tears…  From the dirty feet that got lost in a sea of curiosity and a world of wonderment…  From the windblown hair that has spent the day soaking up sunshine…  To the grass stained clothes that reek of happiness…  These are the moments I love to capture.

Imperfect.  Honest.  Full of life.

Why do we want a lifestyle session?
Because our kids change SO quickly. But also because those small fleeting moments we so often take for granted are invaluable! These are the moments that shape who we are and are heartfelt reminders of where we came from.
What is your style?
I approach family sessions in the form of a documentary. My sessions are very interactive with little to no posing, but lots of direction. This is a perfect time for you to give your children your undivided attention. While photographing your family, I'm looking to capture that feeling of unconditional love.
Where does a lifestyle session take place?
I offer sessions in home or on location. Your choice! I love them both for different reasons.

If you're a sentimental person like myself, I think you'd appreciate an in home session for the simple reason that we'd be photographing you guys in a place that you hold dearly. I imagine kids looking back at these photos years and years from now reminiscing about their childhood; where they grew up, what their old home looked like, what their favorite toys were... All things nostalgic!

On location sessions are usually scheduled in the evening when the sun is setting. I'm really just looking for a place where you and your family can roam free and enjoy each other's company. Plan to go exploring!
Do you photograph babies?
Because my sessions are SO interactive, I recommend booking after your little one has started walking.

If you're curious about newborn sessions, I do offer these with the understanding that the session is meant to document your life as a new family. With that being said, you won't see your sweet little baby in a wicker basket during this session! No props are involved.
Do you offer sessions for extended families?
I do not. Extended family sessions are typically very traditional and formal; quite the opposite of my style. I'm more than happy to send you referrals of photographers who would be better suited for this type of session.
What does the session fee include? How much is it?
The session fee covers the session time, professional editing of your proofs and an online gallery for viewing. After your gallery is delivered, you'll be able to choose which digital files, prints or product you'd like to purchase. There is no minimum requirement! You purchase only what you love.

The non-refundable session fee is $150 (plus tax). This is required in full upon booking to reserve your date.
How far in advance should we book?
4-6 weeks! But if your preference is for an on location Fall session, we should have something on the calendar by August at the latest.
What if it rains?
We'll put your session fee towards a new date. I make the call the morning of the session. I will not cancel a session for cloudy/stormy skies. I actually prefer working on an overcast day, so if we get that... Bonus!
